Your 6 Days tour from Fes to Marrakech begins in the historic city of Fes, where we head south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. The first stop is Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” thanks to its alpine architecture and clean mountain air. From there, we continue to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to playful Barbary macaques—feel free to snap some photos or share a snack with them. After lunch in Midelt, we drive through the dramatic landscapes of the Ziz Valley, dotted with palm groves and kasbahs, before arriving in Merzouga, at the edge of the vast Sahara Desert. You’ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel or riad, just steps away from the dunes.
Today is all about discovering the soul of the Sahara. After breakfast, we’ll explore the area around Merzouga, starting with a visit to a nomadic Berber family, where you’ll learn about their way of life in the harsh desert climate. Then, we head to Khamlia village, famous for its spiritual Gnawa music—you’ll enjoy a traditional performance. In the afternoon, the real desert adventure begins: a camel trek through the golden Erg Chebbi dunes as the sun begins to set. After about an hour, you’ll reach a desert camp, where a delicious dinner and music by the campfire await under a sky filled with stars. Overnight in your private tent.
After waking early to catch a breathtaking Sahara sunrise, you’ll ride camels back to the village and enjoy breakfast and a refreshing shower. We then travel to Rissani, known for its traditional market and historical significance as the birthplace of Morocco’s ruling dynasty. Next, we pass through Erfoud, famous for fossil workshops, and head into the striking Todra Gorge, where massive red cliffs rise up to 300 meters. Take a walk along the river and soak in the natural beauty. In the afternoon, we continue to the Dades Valley, where dramatic rock formations and winding roads make for unforgettable views. Overnight in a charming hotel or guesthouse in the valley.
After breakfast, we’ll follow the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” through the Dades Valley, passing traditional villages and ancient mud-brick forts. We stop in Kalaat M’Gouna, the heart of the Rose Valley, where locals produce rose water and cosmetics you can visit a cooperative if you’d like. We then continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” where many famous movies were filmed. After a quick visit to the Atlas Film Studios or Kasbah Taourirt, we drive to the stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou. This fortified village is a true Moroccan icon, and you’ll have time to explore its winding alleys and ancient towers. Overnight in a nearby guesthouse.
Today, we say goodbye to the desert landscapes and head toward the bustling city of Marrakech. The journey takes us across the scenic High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest in Morocco.
