Your 3 days tour from Fes to Marrakech kicks off with a morning pickup from your accommodation in Fes. The journey begins as we drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a stop in Ifrane, a clean, European-style town often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.”
Next, we visit the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where you’ll have the chance to see and feed wild Barbary macaques. From there, the road takes us through Midelt and into the scenic Ziz Valley, known for its vast palm groves and kasbah-dotted hillsides.
By late afternoon, we reach the edge of the Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Here, you’ll switch to a camel and trek into the golden dunes just in time for sunset. At the luxury desert camp, enjoy a warm welcome, traditional dinner, and live Berber music under a star-filled sky.
Wake up early for a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. Then we head to Erfoud, famous for its fossils and local date market. From there, we continue toward the dramatic Todra Gorge, where you can walk between towering cliffs and feel the cool breeze in the canyon. It’s a great spot for photos and a short hike. In the afternoon, we drive through Dades Valley, known for its colorful rock formations and historic kasbahs. You’ll stop to admire the unique “Monkey Fingers” rock formations before arriving at your hotel in the gorge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we start our final day by driving through the Rose Valley, where locals produce rose-based beauty products. You can stop at a local cooperative to learn more. Next, we pass through Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” thanks to its film studios. Not far from here is the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the backdrop for many movies and shows, like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. You’ll have time to explore the old kasbah village and take in the views. We then cross the scenic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, winding our way down to the bustling city of Marrakech, where the tour ends in the evening.
