Upon arrival in Tangier, you’ll be welcomed by your driver/guide and begin your journey south. Stop in Tetouan, known for its Andalusian influence, before continuing through the stunning Rif Mountains. Arrive in Chefchaouen, the famous “Blue Pearl” of Morocco. Enjoy free time to relax and explore its peaceful blue-painted medina. Overnight stay in a charming riad.
After breakfast, depart Chefchaouen and head toward Volubilis, a well-preserved Roman archaeological site. Wander among the ancient mosaics and columns. Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, to visit landmarks like Bab Mansour and El Hedim Square. In the evening, arrive in Fes for dinner and overnight in a traditional riad.
Today is dedicated to exploring Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and intellectual center. With a local guide, visit the medieval medina (Fes el-Bali), the Al Quaraouiyine University, Bou Inania Madrasa, the tanneries, and artisan quarters. Enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of this historic city. Return to your riad for the night.
After breakfast, drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane (known as “the Switzerland of Morocco”) and the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you might spot wild monkeys. Continue through the scenic Ziz Valley and reach the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga by late afternoon. Wake early to catch the sunrise over the dunes, then return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga.
