Begin your journey with a morning pickup from Casablanca. Visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, a stunning example of modern Islamic architecture located on the Atlantic coast. Then drive to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, where you’ll explore the Kasbah of the Udayas, the Royal Palace, and the iconic Hassan Tower. Continue your trip to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, and visit its famous Bab Mansour Gate, Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and bustling medina. Arrive in Fes in the evening and relax in your riad.
Leave Fes early and drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping at Ifrane, known for its alpine architecture, and Azrou to see the cedar forests and Barbary macaques. Continue through Midelt and the picturesque Ziz Valley. Arrive in Merzouga late afternoon, then enjoy a camel ride at sunset over the golden dunes. Overnight at a desert camp under the stars.
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, leave Merzouga and drive toward Boumalne Dades. Stop at the spectacular Todra Gorge for a walk along the river through the towering canyon walls. Continue to Boumalne Dades, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by stunning mountain landscapes and dramatic gorges.
After breakfast, depart Boumalne Dades and head to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Visit the Taourirt Kasbah and explore this historic town. Continue to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and popular film location. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass before arriving in Marrakech in the evening. End of tour with drop-off at your accommodation or airport.
