Your 4 Days Northern Morocco Tour begins in Tangier, where your driver/guide will greet you. After a short orientation, you’ll head straight toward the Rif Mountains, weaving through forested hills and dramatic landscapes en route to the magical town of Chefchaouen, also known as the Blue Pearl.
You’ll have a couple of hours to explore Chefchaouen’s famous blue-washed medina—snap photos in front of bright doorways, stroll through the vibrant square of Plaza Uta el-Hammam, and maybe grab a bite of fresh goat cheese or mint tea at a rooftop café with mountain views.
In the afternoon, continue your journey through the countryside to reach the imperial city of Fes by evening. Settle into your traditional riad in the medina and prepare for a full cultural immersion the next day.
After breakfast, leave Fes behind and drive toward the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, nicknamed the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its clean streets and alpine-style houses. Continue to the Cedar Forest of Azrou, home to the native Barbary macaques, and stop to stretch your legs and interact with the monkeys.
Next, pass through Midelt, known for apple orchards and scenic mountain surroundings, before entering the impressive Ziz Valley, lined with thousands of date palms and fortified ksars. This winding route through canyon walls is one of Morocco’s hidden gems.
By late afternoon, reach the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. Mount a camel and ride into the Sahara, watching the dunes turn gold under the setting sun. Arrive at your luxury desert camp, enjoy traditional tagine under the stars, and listen to live Berber drumming around the campfire before sleeping in a private tent surrounded by silence.
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes—a breathtaking and peaceful moment. After breakfast, travel west through the desert town of Rissani, known for its lively souk and traditional architecture.
Continue through arid plains to the impressive Todra Gorge, where sheer limestone cliffs tower over a rushing river. You’ll have time for a short walk through the canyon and perhaps a lunch in a riverside café.
In the afternoon, head toward the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its winding roads, ancient kasbahs, and the famous “Monkey Fingers” rock formations. Check into your charming hotel or kasbah in the valley and enjoy a relaxing dinner surrounded by nature.
Your final day begins with a drive through the scenic Valley of Roses, where fragrant products are made from Damascus roses harvested by hand in spring. Next, stop in Ouarzazate, Morocco’s movie capital, where studios and kasbahs have appeared in blockbusters like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Then explore the stunning fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walk through its narrow alleyways and admire the panoramic view from the top.
In the afternoon, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass, enjoying sweeping views of Berber villages and dramatic cliffs. By early evening, arrive in Marrakech, where your 4-day journey across Morocco concludes.
